Creating a contract

The contract is linked to the employee file and defines the type, start date, optional end date, job grade and reference weekly hours.

Amendments and extensions

When conditions such as hours or grade change, you record a new version of the contract instead of overwriting the previous one: this keeps the change date on record.

Deadlines and alerts

Fixed-term contracts generate an alert before expiry, so you can decide in time whether to extend, convert or end the relationship.

Link with reports

Contract data feeds the labour cost analysis: outdated hours or grade will skew the numbers in the monthly report.

1. Open the person's file and go to the Contracts section
2. Select "New contract" or "Record change"
3. Enter type, start date and optional end date
4. Set the reference grade and hours
5. Save: the previous version stays in the history
6. Check the expiry alert if the contract is fixed-term

Problemi frequenti

• No expiry alert appears → end date not set → fix the expiry field on the contract
• Labour cost figures do not match → hours updated too late → record the change from the actual effective date
• Incomplete history → contract overwritten instead of created anew → always use "Record change" for variations
