How to photograph product labels after confirming a receipt to create batches with expiry dates and print their labels in one step.
Right after confirming a receipt, Klyra offers to create batches for traceable products by photographing the pack labels: the photo reads the expiry date and supplier batch code, matches them automatically to the right line, and lets you print the batch labels in one go without retyping anything.
When batch creation appears
As soon as you confirm the receipt, the batch creation card for the delivered lines appears below the summary. Every document line is already there and selected by default, ready to receive an expiry date.
Photographing the pack labels
You can photograph the labels of the products just delivered: the system automatically reads the expiry date (use-by date) or best-before date, the supplier batch code and, when present, the product name, matching the reading to the correct delivery line.
If a label only shows a code and a date with no product name, for example a stamp on the bottom of a can, the reading stays pending until you assign it manually to the right line from the list of readings to assign.

Correcting the date, batch, packs and format
For each line you can still manually enter or correct the expiry date, the supplier batch code and the pack format (for example 1 L or a 5 kg case). The number of packs indicates how many distinct labels and QR codes will be generated: every physical pack received becomes a batch with its own printable label.
You can also exclude a line from batch creation by unchecking it if you do not want to trace it now: it stays in the receipt, but no batch is generated for it.
Creating batches and printing labels
Only included lines with an expiry date filled in count as ready; the counter shows how many lines are ready and how many still need a date before you can proceed. Confirming the creation generates a batch for every pack indicated and immediately starts printing the corresponding labels, without going through a separate print queue.
If a print fails, for example because a printer is unreachable, Klyra flags which products were not printed so you can reprint them manually.

Common issues

- More batches than expected get created for the same product → the number of packs set is higher than what was actually received → correct the number of packs before confirming
- A batch label is not printed → the configured printer was unreachable at creation time → manually reprint the batch flagged as not printed
- The label photo reads nothing → the label was blurry or the text too small in the photo → retake it with a closer, well-lit shot

Do I have to photograph the labels to create batches?
No, you can also manually enter the expiry date and supplier batch code on each line without using the camera; the photo just speeds up entry.
What happens if a photo only shows a code with no product name?
The reading appears among those to assign manually: choose which delivery line it belongs to before confirming the creation.
Why can I set more than one pack for the same line?
Because every physical pack that arrives becomes a separate batch with its own label and QR code, which is useful when the same delivery has several units of the same product with different expiry dates.
